Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Crispy Seitan Bites or buy pre-made seitan from the store!
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp no sugar added maple syrup I used the Mrs. Butterworth's brand, but any will work. You can also use regular maple syrup, but the calorie content will differ.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp green onion, chopped optional
  • sesame seeds optional
  • white rice optional, for serving

Instructions

  • In a small bowl or jar, combine soy sauce, water, cornstarch, syrup, garlic, and ginger.
  • Heat sauce in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add in the Crispy Seitan Bites, and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring as needed.
  • Ready to serve! Optionally, serve over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
